What Is The Perpetual Adoption Fund?

The Family Fund Foundation has been asked several questions regarding The Perpetual Adoption Fund. We are excited there is so much interest in the fund and are anxious to briefly address these questions here.

What is The Perpetual Adoption Fund?
Why is it necessary?
Who will it benefit?
How does it work?
How is it funded?

1. What is the Perpetual Adoption Fund? The Perpetual Adoption Fund is a financial resource available to select couples who hope to adopt, but cannot pay the overwhelming costs of adoption.

2. Why is it necessary? Actually, it isn't necessary, but it will be helpful. A new born adoption in the United States will cost an adoptive couple $25,000 to $35,000 dollars, with little, or most likely, none of that money going to the Birthmother. Unfortunately, adoption is a "for profit" industry and there is a real argument to be had regarding the validity of these costs. This is not the time nor place for that argument...back to the subject at hand. While some couples are blessed to have the means to afford such costs, most do not. Of course these couples make extraordinary efforts to find the means to do so, as their hopes and dreams rest on being able to afford adoption. Still, many cannot scrape together the money needed and abandon hope. For this reason, The Family Fund Foundation is establishing The Perpetual Adoption Fund. Money will be made available, with conditions, to a select few so that there is no need to abandon such righteous ambitions.

3. Who will it benefit? While the direct benefactor of The Perpetual Adoption Fund will be the adoptive couple responsible for the costs of adoption, many will benefit. Of course, the child and Birthmother will benefit as well. And, if you have ever had any experience with adoption as a bystander, you realize that many lives are touched with each successful placement. The fund simply helps facilitate that placement.

4. How does it work? Adoptive couples who believe they need assistance from The Perpetual Adoption Fund, will apply for qualification via The Family Fund Foundation. A non-biased committee will review the applicants and determine what couple(s) will receive funding for adoption and what amount. The selected couple(s) will receive a 0-2% loan to help cover the costs of the adoption with an understanding that the amount needs to be paid off in a certain period of time.

5. How is it funded? The Perpetual Adoption Fund will be funded several different ways. 1) Gracious donors, like you! 2) Corporate sponsorship. 3) Fundraising and awareness events. 4) Ultimately, by the couples who benefited from The Fund in the first place. As these couples pay off their zero to low interest loan from The Fund, they in turn are perpetuating the benefits of The Fund to bless the lives of others, as they have been blessed.

Thanks for all the great questions! As The Fund is established with all "i"s dotted and all "t"s crossed, more questions and answers will be provided. We will establish a website where this information can be shared freely and where the beauty of adoption can be felt by all. Until then, continue to check this blog and if you feel you have skills, talents or abilities that may benefit this wonderful cause, please feel free to email us at adoptionfamilyfund@live.com.
